Mayo Clinic "Need To Know"
"I read an article..." No you didn't. You saw a video on TikTok or Reels that had lots of interesting information. It's ok, just admit it. So when Mayo Clinic came to us with a YouTube Shorts opportunity, we knew what to do. To help combat misinformation about cancer and treatments, who better to supply factual and interesting content than the best research hospital in the world? We put this "tidbits as social currency" idea to work in an animated series we internally called Need to Know. We sat down with experts at Mayo Clinic and I wrote scripts that conveyed medically accurate, interesting and digestible content for each of their specialties, areas of research or treatment. We produced 18 videos and YouTube reported that for Shorts, they saw some of the highest completion rates of these videos. So that's pretty neat. And I got my honorary medical degree. Win-win.
